Field Exchange Program of UN Agencies in China

Program Description:
      Through in-depth cooperation with the United Nations agencies in China (Beijing), the program takes participants into the United Nations agencies in China to experience the office environment, the operational mechanism, and the functions of the positions, to stimulate their curiosity and interest in international organizations and enhance their knowledge and understanding of international organizations. The program will help participants to plan their career development in international civil service, familiarize them with the requirements and competencies required for their positions, and lay a solid foundation for their future participation in global governance and work in international organizations.

Main Contents:
     (1) Field exchange with UN offices
Participants will be taken to the United Nations offices in China (Beijing) to communicate with current officials and staff members, to immerse themselves in the working atmosphere of the United Nations, to gain a deeper understanding of its development history and sustainable development goals, to stimulate their willingness to enter international organizations, to enhance their self-awareness and international vision, and to plan their future careers well in advance.
     (2) Enhance career planning for international civil servants
The program invites officials, experts and interns from UN agencies to share with the participants face-to-face, mainly on topics such as job search paths in UN agencies, job placement ability, language ability, professional quality ability and background knowledge learning, so as to lay the foundation for the participants to enter UN agencies for internship or employment in the future.
     (3) Participate in and support the development of UN projects
The program is organized around a series of exchanges with UN agencies, and participants work in groups to plan and design. The program focuses on the output of the participants’ thinking, and the output will be presented and reported to motivate the participants in a multi-dimensional way and help them directly participate in and support the work of various UN agencies.
