      In 2018, he received the special allowance of the State Council, and is now the “Distinguished Scholar A Post Distinguished Professor” of Renmin University of China, the Vice President of the School of International Relations of Renmin University of China, the doctoral supervisor of diplomacy, the Director of the Center for China’s Foreign Strategic Studies of Renmin University of China, the Chairman and Party Secretary of the China Future Research Association, the Vice President of the China Society of International Relations, the Vice President of the China Pacific Society, the Distinguished Professor of the People’s Political Consultative Conference Forum, the senior advisory member of the National Marine Development Council, the advisory expert of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on public diplomacy, advisory expert of the Central Organization Department, expert of the Central United Front Work Department, advisory expert of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, advisory expert of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a member of the economic diplomacy expert group of the Ministry of Commerce.
       His main research areas are American political system and political culture, American diplomacy, Sino-U.S. relations and great power relations, and Chinese diplomacy and strategy. His major books include: China Wisdom: Chinese Diplomacy since the 18th National Congress, The New Oil War, The Coming of the Great Powers, The Future of China, The Responsibility of Great Powers, The Great Crisis Era and Chinese Breakthrough, 20 Lectures on America, Multilateralism and East Asian Cooperation, and Chinese Scholars’ View on Great Power Strategy; he has published more than 1,000 papers, commentaries and interviews.
